I feel that I need to recommend this amazing man to everyone. He’s easy to listen to, intelligent, funny and makes things easy to understand. And the gentleman I’m talking about…is the worlds only heavy metal marine biologist himself The Blowfish!
He has his own YouTube channel, which is definitely worth a follow it’s not just all about marine biology he talks about all different subjects and will quite often like or reply to comments made (he replied to mine recently on a video about mental health) and he’s also liked/commented/retweeted my tweets too 🙂 little things like that make my day as it shows that he does acknowledge his audience.
Blowfish has also had many TV appearances, and has been on ThatcherJoe (Joe Sugg) YouTube channel with zoella where he bought in various creatures for them to identify while blindfolded.
He has also written a book which is out in November but available for preorder now which I will definitely be getting either for myself or as a present for Christmas (already told my mum that’s what I’d like this year!)
What I enjoy the most about seeing The Blowfish on YouTube or tv, is that he doesn’t just use all the technical terminology that a lot of people wouldn’t understand, he will simplify or explain well what something means. When he has various animals involved in his videos, he is so gentle with them and unlike a lot of wildlife presenters he doesn’t antagonise them or annoy them he shows full respect for any creature he encounters which in my books makes him a great chap. Blowfish is very genuine and real, there’s no facade with him which makes his footage enjoyable to watch both for the factual side and for his personality.
I don’t think he gets enough credit for what he does, so please go and check him out on all his social media and subscribe to his YouTube channel; you don’t have to be into marine biology to enjoy his videos.
